Fur
- Do not expose fur into direct sunlight or heat to prevent discoloration and fading.
- Summer’s excessive heat and humidity or placing fur close to heat sources can lead to drying out of oils in the fur, which can lead to fur molting.
- Exposure to various smells can cause a permanent soaking of smells into the fur garment. The smells can get locked deeply into the fur and therefore may not be removed.
- Never store fur in plastic bags to avoid fur crushing.
- Hang fur coats by the shoulders and ensure they are not leaning against other clothes.
- Store fur in temperature and humidity controlled storage, as an air-conditioned room or a cool basement doesn't offer sufficient protection from moth damage or the drying out of leather. If the leather dries out, it eventually cracks, resulting in excessive shedding of your fine fur.
- Fur brushing should be avoided as this causes fur molting.
